Lately, I've been targeting my focus mostly on the topic of (spatial) knowledge graphs and machine learning algorithms that leverage graph structures.

During my PhD at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) my main research objective were intelligent digital assistants and their ability to proactively provide information based on users' context. I published work on various aspects of this problem - in particular, I studied inference of people's information needs, modeling context of diverse human activities, profiling of entities (describing person's expertise), or dealing with information credibility during knowledge base population.

I've been extremely lucky to have two amazing persons and masters of their field supervising me during the PhD period: Kjetil Nørvåg and Krisztian Balog. I was similarly fortunate to have the opportunity to learn from the best during several research stays, namely, from Gao Cong at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, Paul N. Bennett and John Krumm at Microsoft Research AI in Redmond, and Flora Salim, Yongli Ren and Mark Sanderson at RMIT University in Melbourne.
